In light of Steve Jobs announcing his resignation as chief executive of Apple, it’s necessary to consider what role the company has come to occupy as one of the behemoths of the technology industry. They are undoubtedly the most innovative company out there, but the question remains – is Apple evil?

Some may say you have an agenda.

"Evil" is a pretty loaded word to go swinging around.

"Evil" is a pretty loaded word to go swinging around.

It's become a fairly cliche word to use as a litmus test when evaluating a corporations behavior. Perhaps the word made it into the vernacular with Google's bravado, bragging that it would do no evil. (People are quite uneasy with Google's power over our private information and have asked if Google is evil.)

People have asked if Amazon is evil. People have asked if Facebook is evil. People have asked if Walmart is evil.

Lately, people have stopped asking if Microsoft is evil. It's probably because we are too confused by Bill Gates's philanthropy.

Likewise, people seem to be confused by Steve Jobs's Zen Meditation ambiance. I find that one can claim to be spiritual, while at the same time be quite evil. But Steve is no longer with us, so the question pertains to the company he left behind. His lingering shadow, as it were.

I think one can ponder whether Apple is evil on more than one front.

I for one, ponder it.

smacks to me of cheap/no journalism.

immediately skip.

Bill Gates has no daily role in MS. Its all Ballmer and he's running it into oblivion.

Jobs was a hippie but a canny one who knew how to make a deal and had a personality to match. You simply don't get where he did by being nice to everyone.

"Evil" is an irrelevance - usually proclaimed by hypocrites.

And yet you are here, obeying the prime directive.

I seed articles that interest me. My focus meanders as does the hot topic of the week.

This week birth control, Obamacare, religion and Apple(tm) have caught my fancy.

So you ARE trolling.

You are the one popping by for a visit. Not me.

I was initially intrigued (especially as a new and relatively informed contributor here in newsvine) by your postings, but I have to admit that this link erodes significantly the value of your contributions in my opinion. Of course my opinion, is meaningless I suppose, but linking to a site run by avowed conspiracy theorists and NWO witch hunters as an alleged news item seems to stretch credibility to an unacceptable degree.

Any chance you will better filter your sources to eliminate such obviously poor quality?
